What will be inspected?

The EHO will not just visit your kitchen, it is their role to ensure every part of your business is clean, from front-of-house to kitchen to toilets.

An Environmental Health Officer (EHO) looks at three key areas when conducting a site inspection

  1. How hygienically the food is handled – how it’s prepared, cooked, cooled, stored, and what measures are taken to prevent food being contaminated with bacteria.
  2. The condition of the structure of your premises, including cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, equipment and other facilities.
  3. How you manage and record what you do to make sure food is safe
