Be on the lookout for scammers

Important things to remember

  1. Just Eat will never ask for your date of birth, bank details, address or for any proof of identity such as utility bills, or your Partner Centre username and password over the phone. The only time you will ever need to provide this information is when you first sign up to join Just Eat.
  2. If anything changes in your terms we will ONLY ever send you an email and we will never ask you to confirm anything about your contract over the phone.
  3. We only ever update software through our own systems, so you won’t need to do anything.

Scammers and fraudsters are getting more convincing in their efforts to steal your information and get access to your accounts.

Phone calls, emails, texts or Whatsapp messages pretending to be from Just Eat, or our trusted partners, may try to gain personal, sensitive or financial info from you – like usernames, passwords, credit card details, and other information.

But there are things you can do to prevent scammers getting away with it.

Always be careful of unsolicited or unexpected calls, emails or messages that do things like:

  • Ask you for your Just Eat account, payment details, or passwords.
  • Tell you a bill hasn’t been paid, ask you to add a new payment method, or that you’re due a commission refund and need to confirm your payment details.
  • Say they’re from something like ‘Just Eat Support’ and need access to your computer, phone or tablet to fix it when you haven’t reported anything.
  • Ask for your credit card details to ‘validate’ a version of software or something similar.
  • The caller gets agitated or angry when you try to confirm that they are who they say they are.

Just Eat has strict rules in place about what information we will ask you for, how and when.  They’re outlined below.

WhatsApp and/or texts
Just Eat will never ask you for ANY personal information via Whatsapp or text (SMS) message. No first time contact is ever made via text or WhatsApp, but your sales representative may continue a conversation with you via these channels.

Phone
Just Eat may call and ask for (or to confirm) some details, but this will only be in response to a problem, or change. We may also call you to see how you are getting on, or to offer help in getting you the most out of our partnership, but we will NEVER ask you for a password or your banking details . If you’re in any doubt that it’s Just Eat you’re talking to you should hang up and call us back on 0208 736 2000.

Orderpad
Whenever any updates are needed to your Orderpad, you will NOT need to do anything to your device - this is managed entirely online through Just Eat.
At no point will Just Eat ask for your personal or bank details, and at no point will the team disconnect your Orderpad over the phone.

Partner Services
We work with trusted Partners such as Bionic, and others, who are here to help you make the most of your restaurant through areas like business energy, food safety, more.

They will never send emails asking you to provide financial information or private information. They will ask only for your address, how long you have run your business and for information about your current utility providers for energy, insurance and telecoms, etc.
If you have any doubt that you are speaking with a genuine representative from any of these companies, you should hang up and call them back to check.

Promoted Placement
Our Promoted Placement team may make contact with you from time to time to see whether you are interested in boosting your search results on Just Eat. But they will NEVER ask you for passwords, bank details, or your Partner Centre username.

If you are ever in doubt that the call is genuine, hang up and call the Promoted Placement team on 0203 826 9528.

Just Eat POS
Just Eat POS is owned by Just Eat but operates independently to offer the best possible solution for all our Just Eat POS users. Their sales team may get in touch with you by phone to tell you more about this innovative and convenient POS system.

Just Eat POS will never ask for personal details such as your bank details or passwords, and their staff will never need to ask for details relating to your Just Eat account, such as restaurant ID.

Please always be vigilant. And remember, if you’re ever in doubt that it’s Just Eat who is contacting you, just hang up and call us back to check.
